Seashore Mini Accordian Scrapbook

So we all know by now what a sucker I am for awesome scrapbook paper.  Well I bought a couple sheets of this awesome Nautical/Seashore paper from Carousel, and as usual, didn't have a specific plan in mind for it.  Well a couple of weeks ago, I sat down and just let the creative juices flow, and this is the end result.

I'm really happy with how this turned out!  The paper I bought was Bazzill Basics Paper called Beach House Shore Collage/Seaside Vines (304277).  I also used some vellum & some cream cardstock I had on hand, Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen to 'soften' the edges of all the sheets, except the vellum.  I made the starfish with a random punch I had in one of my drawers.  I have no idea where it came from, so I'll assume it was a dollar store score lol

On the back cover I used the Earth Art International - Seahorse stamp, plus a cheapy seashore stamp set from Inkadinkado.  The navy ribbon was originally from Michael's a few years ago.

I'm still trying to decide if I was to keep it or sell it in my ArtFire Studio.  I'll update when I decide :)

Seahorse ATC

This is a pre-scheduled post because I wasn't sure what shape I'd be in after the Canada Day weekend, and I wanted to make sure I got something up to entertain you guys while I recover :)

Last month our Artist Trading Card (ATC) group's theme was 'Glitter'.  Guess who chose that?  THIS GIRL!!  Thank goodness there are other glitter fans in our group (I'm looking at you, McD sisters!).

I found this AMAZING glitter sheet at Michael's in the loose paper section.  Usually I won't spend money on these fancy sheets because they charge $4 PER SHEET!  Now don't get me wrong, I love me some Michael's, but $4 for a sheet of paper is INSANE.  No matter how beautiful/sparkly/pink/swirly/InsertOtherPaperWeaknessHere it is.  This particular day they had a "Buy 1 get the second for 1 cent" deal on.  That's pretty much $2/sheet, so sure, I splurged.  AND GOT THE TWO MOST SPARKLY PIECES OF CARDSTOCK OF ALL TIME!

Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of the full sheet of the pink zebra print... it occupied a space on my desk for all of 10 minutes before I made that cellphone cover tutorial lol  The other sheet reminded me of the ocean, so I decided on a seahorse stamp that I got as a freebie with one of those fabulous UK card magazines.

Next I used my Spellbinders to cut them out in an oval shape.

It took some precision to get them cut out as they were pretty much EXACTLY the height of the die.  Some of them tails and fins got nipped lol

Next I colored in with my Copics.  As you can see, the one to the far left was my 'messed up card', so I always keep those ones for myself.  That's why most of the seahorses are blue, and my final pic down there is almost teal lol

And then assembled!  I used Viva Decor around the edge of the circle, for the air bubbles, and for the dots along the top and bottom.

I'm still waiting on a few ATCs from both May & June.  As soon as I get them I'll post them too.

Earth Art International Animal Spirit Stamps - Seahorse Card

This card was a total fluke for me.  I'm not usually a fan of browns, but I had seen a card on Pinterest that was done in these colors and I didn't hate it!  I figured now is the time to use up the brown paper I have in my drawer.

The background stamp is musical notes, done in VersaMark on the brown paper.  I heat-set it before using Tim Holtz Distress Ink to shade the edges of the brown.  Next I stamped and embossed the Earth Art Seahorse stamp.  You can't tell from the picture but the "Congratulations" is actually popped (raised up, for those of you non-crafters that don't know the lingo :p ), so it adds some dimension to the card.  It was also stamped and embossed, and the edges inked with TH.  The dots were done with Viva Decor.  Base of the card is black.
